Narok County, as well as Kajiado County, is predominantly inhabited by the members of the Maasai community, and the senator wants that number increased by encouraging men to marry multiple women.

“Going forward we will no longer be kept as a human zoo; the Maa Nation is not a tourist attraction; we are a sleeping giant! We must wake up and conquer.

“In 2025 we will increase our numbers. We will advocate for our men to marry four women and have 12 kids each. Happy 2025,” Ole Kina said in a statement on X on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

According to the result of the last population count in the country in 2019, the Kikuyu community is still the majority, as their number was 8.15 million, followed by the Luhya (6.82 million), then Kalenjin (6.36 million), Luo (5.07 million), and Kamba (4.66 million).

Maasai people have been reported as numbering 1,189,522 in the country as per the last census.
