Tendering will be conducted under an open competitive method [Open Tendering] using a standardised tender document. Tendering is open to all qualified and interested Tenderers. The geothermal tender document can be viewed and downloaded for free from the KenGen website and/or on E-procurement portal. Tenderers who download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to tenders@kengen.co.ke,0711036000 and the P.O.BOX 47936-00100 postal address to facilitate any further clarification or addendum.
Bidders who are unable to download the geothermal tender documents from the website may collect them from any KenGen Supply Chain Office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs.1,000.00 paid via Mpesa, pay bill no. 400200 and account no. 01120069076000, then share the MPesa message to KenGen Finance office staff for receipt and issuance of official receipt or through a banker’s cheque and payable to the address given below.
Electronic Tenders will be permitted through our e-procurement platform found on the KenGen website on or before; 25 October 2022 at 10am. Internet Explorer and Firefox Mozilla are the preferred web browsers.
All Tenders must be accompanied by a tender security as part of the bid document. All tender securities submitted shall be subject to authentication by KenGen. The Original Tender Security of KES600,000.00, valid for 30 days beyond the tender validity period from any reputable banks registered by the Central Bank of Kenya.
International bidders should have tender security through local corresponding banks registered by the Central Bank of Kenya and MUST be submitted in a plain sealed envelope and clearly marked “KGN-GDD-085 -2022- TENDER FOR SUPPLY OF DRILL STRING INSPECTION AND REPAIR SERVICES FOR GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.’’ And addressed to:

The hard copy of the Original Tender Security clearly labelled should be dropped at the tender box located on Ground Floor at KenGen, KenGen, RBS building on or before the tender closing date.
Electronic tender securities are acceptable and shall be authenticated through the use of the QR scanner. The Tenderer shall chronologically serialize all pages of the tender documents submitted. Completed tenders must be submitted online on or before 25 October 2022 at 10am [hard copies of the tender document shall not be permitted].
Tenders will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above or any later deadline date and time. Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers’ designated representatives who choose to attend at the address below:
