Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of three directors of Lariak Properties Ltd which demolished a house in Westlands belonging to an Indian couple.

Lariak Properties Ltd, which was registered in 2002, has four directors namely; Nathaniel Kipkemboi Barmasai, Samuel K. Chepkwony, John Kamaiyoa Rotich and Joel Kiplangat.

Sonko is now seeking to have the three remaining directors arrested and charged.

The former Nairobi governor on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, announced he was offering a Ksh100,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrests of Samuel K. Chepkwony, John Kamaiyoa Rotich and Joel Kiplangat.

After one of the four Directors of Lariak properties Ltd Mr. Nathaniel Barmasai was charged in court on November 14th, his other co- Directors in the company waliingia nyasi. @DCI_Kenya has now successfully obtained a warrant of arrest against the three remaining Directors namely Mr. Samuel Chepkwony, John Rotich and Joel Kiplangat. Detectives from DCI are looking for them for the offences of malicious damage to property and robbery with violence,” Sonko tweeted.

“I’m offering a reward of Kshs. 100,000/= to anyone who will give information to the police that will lead to their arrest,” he added.

Niraj Shah and his wife Avani Shah were left stranded after a mob demolished and stole household items while police officers watched on November 7.

The Ksh80 million property was demolished by a mob allegedly deployed by the private developer.

Avani lamented that her family had occupied the home for about 46 years. She refuted reports claiming that the parcel belonged to a private developer.

The acre land of land where the home was built was said to belong to a private developer.

According to the victim, her father died in 2010 and left the house to her. In the same year, the private developer was also said to have bought the land.

However, the victim argued that the person the private developer bought the land from was an imposter.

She noted that the developers grabbed her land despite a court order issuing the same. The land, which a private company allegedly bought in 2010, has a lease which expires in 2048.
