Kenyan gospel musician Size 8, born Linet Munyali, has announced her breakup from her husband of 11 years, renowned DJ Mo (Samuel Muraya).
The couple have been a prominent fixture in the Kenyan entertainment industry and featured on Africa Magic’s gospel reality series “Oh! Sista.”
In her announcement, she said that sometimes marriage doesn’t work.
“Sometimes marriage works by God`s grace and sometimes it does not work but all in all God is still on the throne,” she said.
Adding, “I’ve been married for 11 years and now I start the journey of singlehood.”
The announcement has been met with scepticism.
In 2020, the couple was caught up in a cheating scandal involving DJ Mo.
When he later admitted that he had been unfaithful, Size 8 chose to work on their marriage leading to a period of intense public scrutiny and speculation about the future of their relationship.
However, a year later, in 2021, the couple projected a happy family life on the reality series “Oh Sista” and have continued to do so on social media. According to some fans, the news of the breakup came “out of nowhere” while others wondered whether they were “chasing clout”.
Size 8 has made no further comment on the issue.
