A planned power outage scheduled for Saturday, July 6, 2024, is set to affect three counties in Kenya, as per the latest announcement from Kenya Power.
The outage, intended for maintenance, will disrupt multiple regions, each experiencing temporary power cuts at different times throughout the day.
“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as follows: (Periodic interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades of power lines, connect new customers, or replace power lines during construction, etc.),” stated Kenya Power on its official website.
Although temporary, this outage is expected to significantly impact various sectors and activities in the affected counties.
The power blackout will affect Narok, Uasin Gishu and Siaya Counties on Saturday, Kenya Power confirmed.

Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Places affected: Mwamb, Sinendet Centre, Sakam Quarry, Murugusi Quarry, Lower Kipkaren Centre, Upper Kipkaren, Nyengeilel Sec Sch, Nyengeilel Centre, Murugusi Dispensary, Murugusi Pri, Murugusi Centre, Musembe Mkt, Chepsaita, Magut Center, Ngayu Centre, Psorungai, Lumakanda Centre, Lumakanda Sec Sch, Lumakanda Hosp, Muyuki Centre, Sokomoko, Makutano & adjacent customers.
Area: Sagam, Lihanda
