The announcement was made through an official gazette notice dated Thursday, October 31, 2024, with the new assignment taking effect immediately.
Mudavadi, who also serves as the CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, will temporarily oversee the Interior Ministry’s crucial operations, responsible for ensuring national security, overseeing police reforms, managing regional administration, and handling other aspects of public administration.

Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi, E.G.H., Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, is assigned as the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior and National Administration. According to the notice, Mudavadi’s appointment aligns with Article 152 (5)(a) of the Constitution, which allows for such reassignments within the Cabinet to ensure continuity in leadership and seamless management of critical government functions.
