Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has urged elected leaders to focus on their duties.

While presiding over the groundbreaking of an administrative complex and a Police Station in Miruya, Uriri, Migori County, Omollo expressed concern that many elected leaders had become too involved in early political campaigns.

He noted that such activities had hindered development, despite the national government’s efforts to allocate funds to the counties.

Omollo also called on elected leaders to stick to their roles and avoid unnecessary political distractions.

Speaking at the same event, Uriri MP, Mark Nyamita, requested PS Omollo to consider creating more administrative units to improve security in the country.

The new administrative complex is expected to house several government offices, bringing services closer to the people of Uriri constituency, who currently face significant challenges in accessing Huduma Centres.
