A police officer based in Moyale, Marsabit County early Sunday morning shot dead two of his colleagues before turning the gun on himself.
According to a police report, the police officer identified as Lawrence Kumber is said to have picked up a stone and hit Constable Noah Odero on his forehead.
After Odero fell down from the hit, Kumber picked up his rifle an AK-47 then hurried the Station’s armoury section where he met the officer in charge Corporal Francis Kokwe and killing him on the spot.
Kumber also shot Constable Ezekiel Matete killing him instantly. He also turned the gun on another officer identified as Abbas Mohammed injuring him on the left shoulder.
Kumber then rushed to house and locked himself before taking his life with the same AK-47 rifle.
Moyale Sub-County police Commander Walter Chebron said the motive of the killings has not been established but they have launched investigations.
The two injured officers are admitted at a local hospital in Moyale while the bodies of three officers have been moved to the Moyale Sub-County Level Four hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, a police officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations was on Saturday evening killed in a hit and run accident along the Northern Bypass, Nairobi County.
The officer, Boniface Muyonga Muganda was riding on his motorcycle when he was hit by an unknown motorist. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital.
