Detectives are searching for a man believed to have fatally stabbed his colleague, John Olando Ambwaya, 29, during a violent incident in the Valley Bridge area of Kiamaiko, Huruma.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect fled the scene after the fatal confrontation.

“The man is reported to have disappeared after the afternoon fatal attack on his associate John Olando Ambwaya, 29,” DCI statement read in part.

The incident occurred at a local car wash where the person of interest was involved in an altercation with his ex-wife.

DCI said the witnesses reported the person of interest struck his ex-wife on the head with a stone, rendering her unconscious. Seeing the escalation, Olando intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation.

Tragically, the man then drew a dagger and attacked Olando, fatally stabbing him in the neck.

Bystanders rushed the injured Olando to Huruma Nursing Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The DCI said the person of interest fled the scene immediately following the attack, taking the weapon with him.

“In the unfortunate incident that happened at Valley Bridge Carwash, the man is said to have had an altercation with his ex-wife, whereby he used a stone to hit her on the head, knocking her out. In an attempt to calm the situation, Olando intervened, only for the person of interest to brandish a dagger which he drew through Olando’s neck. As Olando painfully slid to his death, the man vanished with the murder weapon,” DCI added.
