Murkomen was moved to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration in a Cabinet reshuffle made by President William Ruto last year.
Welcoming the new CS, Kipchumba Murkomen said that it was a privilege and an honour to serve the country in any capacity and thanked the ministry staff, led by PS Ismail Madey and Eng. Peter Tum, for their dedication.
“It is a privilege and an honour to serve your country in any capacity. I am grateful for the chance I had to work with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports,” said CS Murkomen.
“As I officially hand over the docket today to Hon. Salim Mvurya, I wish to extend my gratitude to the ministry staff, led by PS Ismail Madey and Eng. Peter Tum, for their dedication.”
The two Cabinet Secretaries also conducted a joint inspection of Nyayo National Stadium and the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani with CS Mvurya expressing confidence that Kenya is ready to co-host CHAN 2024 and AFCON 2027 tournaments.
