Socialite Sonie Alhuda Njoroge, popularly known as Huddah Monroe, weighed in on the ongoing political debate surrounding former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, following his impeachment.

“If Ruto thought he’d corner Kikuyus into war coz of Gachagua pole sana. The vision is bigger than mere politricks,” she added.

Despite expressing some sympathy for Gachagua, particularly regarding the withdrawal of his security detail, Huddah remained confident that he could adjust to his new circumstances, much like ordinary citizens who live without constant security.

“Anyways, pole to the guy waking up to no security is painful but sisi we don’t have security na tuko sawa. I don’t trust bodyguards or driver anyways,” Huddah remarked.

Gachagua told journalists that his security has been withdrawn from his Karen and Nyeri residences, questioning the intent behind the extended purge that targeted his office staff members.

“I have been here alone without a single officer looking after me. All officers close to me were disarmed and given a warning that they should not be near me. As we speak the Deputy President has no single security officer around him. He is alone,” Gachagua said after he was discharged from the Karen Hospital.

“Last night all vehicles of offices who work under me were impounded to cripple the office of the DP. I don’t understand this level of viciousness to a man who helped you to become president,” he added.

Gachagua said that Ruto should be held responsible in the event anything happens to him and his family.

“If anything happens to me or my family President Ruto must be held to account,” he noted.

Gachagua further voiced his shock at President Ruto’s actions, expressing regret for supporting his bid for the presidency.

“I didn’t know President Ruto could be that vicious. I am so shocked by how vicious a man I helped to be president, that I believed in, I was persecuted for supporting him, could be so vicious against me when I am literally fighting for my life in hospital,” Gachagua said, visibly emotional after being discharged from Karen Hospital.
