The suspect surrendered himself to the police after k*****g the 39-year-old w***n on Friday.

The man told the police that he strangled his wife with a rope in the bathroom, k*****g her on the spot.

Reports indicate that the suspect ran a cyber business in the town sometime back before it collapsed, rendering him jobless. He has been depending on his wife who operates a grocery business to survive.

The two had two children who were not at home at the time of the incident.

Kitui Central Sub-county Police Commander Peter Karanja confirmed the incident, saying the couple has been experiencing marital challenges for a while.

“The report we have so far is that the two have been having domestic issues for a while,” Karanja said.

The deceased body was taken to Kitui Level 4 Hospital mortuary as police continue with investigations.

Meanwhile, police are holding a w***n over the murder of her husband in Kaiti sub-county, Makueni county.

The deceased’s brother, who reported the incident to the police, said Veronica slashed her husband’s legs with a m*****e after a disagreement over an undisclosed matter.

The victim, who had lost a lot of b***d, was rushed to Mukuyuni sub-county hospital where he was given first aid and later referred to Makueni Referral Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

Area chief Francis Kimeu confirmed the incident, saying the man was threatening his wife with a panga before the w***n snatched it and used it to attack him.

“The two had a family conflict where the wife took the m*****e the husband was threatening her with and used it to attack him,” Kimeu said.
