A man was today arraigned at Loitoktok law court charged with defiling a 14-year-old girl in a hotel room in Loitoktok town, Kajiado county.

John Ondari who appeared before Resident Magistrate Samuel Ndungu was charged that on 5th March 2022 at Loitoktok Township in Loitoktok sub-county, he defiled the minor.

According to the minor’s grandmother, on the material day, she received a call from one John, the victim’s nephew, telling her that the minor had been spotted in the company of an adult male in a guest house at a local hotel.

The grandmother rushed to the scene where a disagreement ensued between the guest house attendants and the nephew over the attendants’ refusal to allow them access to the room the two had settled in.

However, after some time the accused finally agreed to open the door and they were able to get in.

In the room they found the girl standing against the wall while the accused sat next to the bed.

Then the grandmother left the nephew on guard and rushed to Loitoktok Police station leading to the arrest of the two.

It is said that the two had been intimate since when the accused was the minor’s teacher in primary school.

The minor said they had been in the relationship for quite a while and had intimacy severally.

The accused was escorted to the police station where he was charged with the offence before being arraigned in court where he denied the charge. The matter was adjourned to February 22, 2023, for further hearing.
