The contingent, which also consisted of Githunguri Member of Parliament, Gathoni Wamuchomba, held public rallies in the area.

In a response to Wamalwa’s thank you message, Karua said it was a pleasure hosting them.

“Was a pleasure hosting you. Enjoy the Kimunye Tea,” the former Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister in the Mwai Kibaki government said in a statement on X.

Wamalwa revealed that he was moved by Karua’s friendship and the environment in the Kimunye area.

On her part, Wamuchomba thanked Karua for the late date and the tea leaves given by her parents to them.

“This afternoon had a late lunch at Hon Martha Karua’s Gichugu house, joined by HE Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, Hon Eugene Wamalwa, and a host of other MPs. Hon. Martha’s parents gave each one of us a packet of tea leaves packed from the nearby Kimunye factory. This is a very symbolic gesture. In my hoods, we say we are ‘hawk-eying’. Thank you, my senior! Kazi kwa mpango!
