Taking to his official X account on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Gachagua termed Trump’s self-declared victory as one of the greatest political comebacks of the current generation.

Gachagua further stated that Trump’s victory is clear proof that resilience and a never-say-die attitude would always trump obstacles on the path of someone’s destiny.

Gachagua joins other several Kenyan political leaders who have also taken to their official social media accounts to congratulate Trump.

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru is one of the leaders who have already penned their congratulatory messages.

Waiguru in a statement shared via her official social media accounts on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, congratulated Trump for having been overwhelmingly elected as the 47th president of the United States of America.

Waiguru at the same time sought to comfort Trump’s challenger Kamala Harris, stating that she had run an impressive campaign and fought the good fight.

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and his Embakasi East counterpart Babu Owino are some of the lawmakers who were the first to send congratulatory messages to Trump.

“Congratulations President Donald Trump, the 45th & 47th. Republican policies have always been better for Africa & the Global South. The Global Economy will definitely be better with imminent monetary easing under Trump. Hongera USA. We are African and Africa is our Business,” Ndindi Nyoro wrote on X.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has also congratulated Trump.

With Pennsylvania gone, Vice President Kamala Harris’s “blue wall” along the Great Lakes has cracked, and her path to becoming the first woman in the Oval Office has nearly disappeared.

Republicans also flipped control of the Senate with a string of key victories.
