The event, which happened at the Awelo open-air grounds in Siaya town was attended by Suba South Member of Parliament (MP) Caroli Omondi, Former Rarieda MP, Nicholas Gumbo, Former Kisumu senator Fred Outa, Former Governor Jack Ranguma, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) regional coordinator, Dianga Waore, and Siaya County Commissioner, Jim Njoka among other leaders.
“On behalf of President William Ruto, I have this morning flagged off the distribution of relief food to the residents of Siaya,” Owalo stated.
According to the CS, the food will benefit the vulnerable and underprivileged affected by drought in the county.
“The distribution will focus on the vulnerable and underprivileged who are most affected by the drought situation,” the CS added.
On Saturday, November 3, 2022, the CS distributed relief food in Migori.
In a statement, the CS noted that the move followed a directive by President William Ruto.
He added that the Ruto-led administration was determined to help mitigate the effects of long drought through famine relief intervention.
“I have this morning on behalf of President William Ruto presided over the launch of distribution of much-needed relief food at God Kwer, Suna West Constituency, Migori County,” he stated.
He was accompanied by Suba South MP Caroli Omondi, former Migori governor Okoth Obado, former Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo and former Nyatike MP, Omondi Anyanga.
Others were UDA Migori County Coordinator Fred Siengo, Chairman Phares Odira, and Migori County Commissioner Michael Mwangi among other leaders.
