Governors are currently meeting at Safari Park, Nairobi, where among other things, they will elect the new leadership of the council.
The Ordinary Council meeting will also discuss issues affecting devolution including the implementation of the new health plan- the Social Health Authority being one of the key agendas.
The outgoing chairperson and governor for Kirinyaga Anne Waiguru will deliver the Annual State of Devolution Address, 2024 from 11.30 am and thereafter, unveil the new CoG Executive and the Council Committee Chairpersons.
Chief Justice Martha Koome is presiding over the ceremony.
