Police officers in Bungoma County have launched a manhunt for suspected robbers who killed a night club guard before walking away with drinks worth Ksh70,000 and other valuables on the night of Sunday, October 23, 2022.
The owner of the shop is reported to have safely locked the shop before walking home that night only to come in the morning and find her guard in a pool of blood.
The robbers stole a TV screen and an assorted alcoholic worth Ksh70,000.
“The unknown number of thugs attacked the guard before breaking into the shop by cutting the padlock and stole one TV screen of 32 inches and assorted alcoholic drinks worth Ksh70, 000,” the police report read in part.
The body of the deceased was moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
Elsewhere in Kitengela, Kajiado County, two robbers were arrested as others escaped after officers found them escaping after breaking into a shop in the township and stealing property of unknown value on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
The police received information from a member of the public and rushed to the scene.
They found the gang escaping and they fired to scare them which with the help of the public managed to arrest two suspects as the rest escaped.
The two were identified as Samuel Waweru and Paul Wachira aged 42 and 39 years respectively.
The police recovered several items from the two suspects including master keys which are believed to have been used during their operations.
“They recovered master keys, screwdriver, pen knife, plier’s two hack saws, and40 bunches of keys,” the police report seen by K24 Digital stated in part.
The police are yet to identify the properties that the thieves stole and their value.
They fired five rounds of 7.62mm special during the incident but no one was injured.
More investigations are on as a hunt for the escapees continue.
