“The leaders have to work together to improve the lives of Kenyans and foster development. I urge church leaders to pray for them,” Patience said during a funds drive for the official inauguration of the diocese and consecration of a bishop.
The diocese has been carved from the Bishopric South Nyanza Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) headed by bishop John Omangi. The new diocese covers Kisii and Nyamira counties.
She appealed to Kenyans to pray for the leaders and the families so that peace can prevail to enhance development and unity.
Henry Monyancha, Chief Officer, Public participation, Disaster management and special programs urged church leaders to pray for Kisii County’s leaders to fight and end graft.
Monyancha, who represented governor Simba Arati, said the government was struggling to fight corrupt individuals and corrupt individuals were f******g back to derail his leadership for selfish interest.
“The governor is harnessing resources and nurturing talents to benefit the county and needs prayers to overcome corruption,” Monyancha said.
He challenged youths to shun wasting time on useless things and instead be creative, innovative and embrace small-scale projects to eke a living to boost their lives.
The CO said it was wrong to see youths capable of improving their lives begging money from their parents and relatives to sustain their lives.
“When you see youths begging for money, it means they have no vision and instead waste time watching Television,” Monyancha added.
