Omondi has been arrested on several occasions while protesting over the high cost of living with his recent arrest being along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi on Monday, March 3, 2023.
“You (Eric Omondi) on April 3, 2023, at 11.30 am along Kenyatta Avenue created a disturbance by shouting and erecting a barrier along Kenyatta Avenue and while standing on top of it, you shouted hence causing a disturbance and inconvenience to other road users,” the charge sheet states in part.
Through Instagram, he called out the authorities claiming his rights have been infringed and he has been subjected to psychological torture.
“The Kenya Police has arrested me 4 times illegally…They have tortured me psychologically every time they do so. They have Infringed on my rights and they Enjoy it and sometimes even laugh while doing it. You can only push a man too far. “
The comedian-cum-activist is now daring the police to arrest him one more time saying he is ready to put his life in line.
“I dare the Kenya police to Arrest me one more time and the thing I will do will change the course of this COUNTRY. You are dealing with a man who is ready to lay his life on the line. ARREST ME ONE MORE TIME!!! PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME ONE MORE TIME,” he wrote.
