Police officers in Kitengela, Kajiado County, have launched a manhunt for a gang of four men who robbed two businesswomen of cash and valuables in a dramatic manner.

The gang, armed with rungus and pangas, first accosted Jane Njeri, 39, at her home before moving to her neighbour’s house in a robbing spree.

The gang raided the compound and took Ksh16,000, three mobile phones, and a gas cylinder among other valuables.
First, they got to Njeri’s house and slapped his 20-year-old son with a panga before tying him together with his mother using ropes for proper robbing.

“Four thugs armed with pangas and rungus accosted Njeri, a business lady within Kitengela township after she arrived at her compound on Monday evening. They got into the house, slapped his son with a panga, and tied them with a rope. They robbed one itel digital tv, Sony DVD, an HD Sony Hoofer 1966, an Infinix phone, Tecno spark mobile, assorted shopping goods worth 6,000, and a 6kg gas cylinder.

They also transferred Ksh10,000 from her phone,” the police report is seen by K24 Digital reads in part.
As if that was not enough, the gang then ordered Njeri to call her fellow businesswoman (Beatrice Wanjiru) at the Kitengela Township before they went to the house of Njeri’s neighbour where they also stole valuables.

“They ordered her to call her fellow businesswoman and they proceeded to her house where they gained entry through the door which was open. They robbed her two gas cylinders, a 3kg and 6kg, 24-inch LG TV, two new duvets, and two window curtains,” the police report added.

They then stuffed the stolen items into Wanjirus’s vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination.
The police are yet to make any recovery of the stolen goods or make any arrests.

Elsewhere, six men who were robbing members of the public within the Spring Valley area escaped to an unknown destination after they narrowly escaped arrest by officers on patrol.

The six were challenged to surrender to the police but instead denied and started running which prompted the police to shoot at them.
A manhunt has been launched for them as police continue with investigations.
