A family in Loitoktok, Kajiado county is mourning the death of their 9-year-old daughter whose mutilated body was found dumped in a nearby maize farm.
“Mtoto alikua ametendewa unyama kabisa…macho yalikua yameng’olewa, mguu wa kulia umekatwa, ata sehemu za sirini kama zilikua zime tolewa na ngozi ya kichwa ata imengolewa…mambo ambayo si ya kibinadamu,” the parents stated.
This loosely translates to:
“Our child was brutally murdered… her eyes were gouged out, her right leg was amputated, her private parts had been removed and her head was skinned..this was a bizarre incident,”
Prior to the incident, the parents reported that their child had gone missing on January 4, 2023.
Loitoktok police boss Shadrack Ruto who claims that the victim may have been raped before meeting her untimely death says that the minor was discovered eight days after the parents filed a missing person report.
“After the parents reported, we launched investigations and sent news across the media but yesterday, the child’s body was found by some people working on the farms having been brutally murdered,” Ruto stated.
“Pengine huyo mtu alifanya hivyo ili kuficha kitu ambacho amefanyia huyo mtoto, haswa ubakaji,” he added.
The body of the deceased was moved to Loitoktok hospital mortuary pending an autopsy to help with investigations.
