Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru does not have a television (TV) in her living room for the sake of her family’s well-being.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on January 2, 2023, Waiguru explained that she doesn’t have a TV in her living room to separate outside politics from home affairs.
“I don’t know whether you will believe this but we don’t have a TV in our living room, that way we separate the political discussions we have outside there from what goes on when we come home,” Waiguru said.
Waiguru, who joined politics in 2017 when he contested for Kirinyaga governor, further noted that she does not mix politics with her personal life.
The Kirinyaga governor noted that she still has time to spend quality time with her friends because she acknowledges that politics is temporary while life is permanent.
“I have the same friends, I have got my friend for very many years. My closest friends have been with me since high school, my best friend was my deskmate in Form 1 when I was 17. I have time for them, so I am just the same person because politics comes to an end and is not permanent but life is permanent so I try as much as possible to keep my life going as normally as possible,” she said.
Waiguru is serving her second and final term as Kirinyaga governor.
