Two Police officers are expected to be charged in Court on Monday, December 19, 2022, after they assaulted their colleague while on patrol in the Embakasi area on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the three officers (Corporal Anthony Mwangi and Inspector Mark Bob and Constable Hirbo Siko) while on patrol within Embakasi village came across a bar that was contravening the Liquor Act and sought answers from the patrons of the facility.

When the three were in the inquiry process, the patrons of the bar became violent and Constable Siko was assaulted by two male adults during the process.

“While on patrol in the Embakasi village, the three officers came across a bar that was contravening the Liquor Act. When they inquired about the same some of the patrons became violent and two males assaulted Constable Hirbo Siko. He was injured on the face, right eye, ear, and lips,” the police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

The two went ahead and poured alcohol on Siko before his colleagues called for reinforcement from the Embakasi Quick Response Unit (QRU). With the arrival of the QRU Officers, the two males claimed to be police officers but failed to give their Certificate of Appointment.

They were arrested and taken to Embakasi Police station where they identified themselves as constables Peter Monyenye and Boniface Nyakundi.

Hirbo was taken to RFH Hospital in Embakasi where he was treated and discharged in fair condition.

Separately, a 23-year-old Ugandan lady is admitted to Mama Lucy hospital after she was seriously assaulted by her husband on Sunday at around midnight.

Tero Vicky Natiang was saved by neighbours who called nurses from MSF Hospital of Mathare and officers from Shauri Moyo.

She received first aid from the nurses who later transferred her to Mama Lucy hospital where she is admitted in stable condition.

The suspect was arrested and placed in custody as the police continued with investigations.
