This is according to Moja Expressway, the company operating the 27-kilometre toll road that stretches from Mlolongo in Machakos county to Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Nairobi.
In a notice to members of the public on Sunday, the firm said the affected sections of the road will be closed from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for security reasons.
“Please note that for security reasons and in observance of the Jamhuri Day celebrations scheduled to take place at the Nyayo National Stadium some exits and entrances of the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily out of service from 10 am to 1 pm,” the company said.
Motorists driving from Mlolongo to Westlands have been advised to exit at Capital Centre or join the Nairobi Expressway from Haile Selassie as the Capital Centre entrance will remain closed during the period.
