Former state officers are among the 109 shortlisted candidates for the Principal Secretary position, as announced by the Public Service Commission (PSC) in December last year.

Among those on the list are former Chief Administrative Secretary David Osiany, former nominated MP Wilson Sossion, former Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) board chair Anne Makori, former PS of the State Department for Development of Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Micah Powon, and Kenya Pipeline Company Managing Director Dr. Macharia Irungu.

Other notable former officers set to be interviewed include Anne Kananu (Nairobi governor), Nicholas Muraguri (PS), KBC Managing Director Naim Bilal (KBC MD), Andrew Mulwa (KEMSA CEO) and Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak (NACOSTI CEO) among others.

The Director-General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, former Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary-General, Dr. Ouma Oluga, journalist and news anchor Pauline Shegu, and social media commentator and columnist Gabriel Oguda were also shortlisted.

The PSC revealed that 2,517 Kenyans applied for the position, which became vacant following reassignments within the executive’s senior ranks.

However, the advertisement sparked speculation about impending changes within the government.
