Lawyer and activist Morara Kebaso on Sunday, December 29, 2024, slammed critics questioning his source of wealth.
The lawyer cum activist then went back to finish high school after serving as a salesperson. In his long post, Morara claimed that he once owned a local hotel in Kawangware, a wines and spirits business in Kahawa Wendani, and later embarked on online writing.
“I started working at the age of 16 washing dishes. I later became an MC in roadshows. I was a salesman for salt. I decided to go back to school and finish form four. I got my As and went into being a waiter at Ufanisi Resort as I wait for campus selection,” Morara’s statement read in part.
“I taught mathematics at Kabiro Secondary School in Kawangware. I sold avocados at Soko Mjinga in Kawangware. (Very profitable business) I had a hotel at stage 56, which I co-owned with a guy who used to be a chef at the 1824 club,” it added.
“I was a land broker in Kajiado, where I managed to sell a 4-acre piece, and with the commission I got, I bought my first TV and my first car, where I borrowed the balance from a microfinance (a decision I regretted),” Morara’s statement read in part.
Besides his known furniture business, Morara disclosed that he currently runs a car sales company, which he claimed was launched in November 2024.
Morara Kebaso thus bashed those questioning his wealth, insisting that he had hustled his way up.
“For sure I deserve any car that I can afford. In a functioning economy with fair access to capital, I should be employing over 10,000 Kenyans,” Morara maintained.
This catapulted him to fame, with Kenyans raising funds to support his mission. He expanded his scope by unveiling a political party that he insisted was key to salvaging the country from graft.
With the help of Kenyans, Morara managed to buy a car fitted with a sound system to help him crisscross various parts of the country.
However, he has since been asking Kenyans to contribute money for different activities associated with his activism works, leading to a fallout with some of his followers.
