Kenyan-born Hollywood actor Edi Gathegi has added another feather to his cap with his portrayal of the superhero Mr Terrific in the trailer for ‘Superman: Legacy.’ The James Gunn-directed reboot of the iconic Superman franchise.
Gathegi, known for his versatile performances in films such as ‘X-Men: First Class’, Twilight, and the TV series ‘The Blacklist,’ and ‘StartUp’ is set to bring his unique charm and depth to the role of Mr. Terrific, also known as Michael Holt.
The character Mr Holt, is a genius inventor, Olympic-level athlete, and master tactician. He is one of DC Comics’ most compelling and multidimensional heroes according to James Gunn.
In an earlier interview, James Gunn revealed that of all of the supporting roles in Superman, Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific is the “main character of those characters,” playing a major part in the movie’s story.
“I love Mr. Terrific,” Gunn explained. “These characters all get their moment in the sun. They all have their moments. They’re not just cameos, these are the characters. They’re supporting cast, but Mr. Terrific is the main character of those characters. He actually has a big part of the plot.”
‘Superman: Legacy’ is slated for release in July 2025 and marks a pivotal chapter in the DC Universe.
