Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has opened up about some of the traits he finds unattractive in women.
In a video shared on his Instagram on Tuesday, November 20, 2024, the outspoken legislator outlined behaviors and habits of the kind of woman who doesn’t make the cut in his book.
According to Salasya, one of his biggest turn-offs is a woman who talks too much or constantly questions his whereabouts and interactions.
“I don’t like a woman who speaks a lot or asks me where I have been or who has called me,” he revealed.
The MP who has in the past been struggling to find a partner, expressed his dislike for women who frequently ask for money, stating that he values those who come with business ideas instead of financial demands. He also said he is unimpressed by women who claim to sell goods online but fail to provide tangible proof of their ventures.
“I want a woman who tells me a business idea. I also don’t want a woman who says she sells things online and I can’t see physically what she sells,” he explained.
Cleanliness and industriousness are also high on Salasya’s list of desired traits. He stated that he dislikes lazy women who sleep in late or lack personal hygiene. He also added that a calm and composed personality is a quality he looks for in a partner.
“I don’t like a lazy woman or a woman who sleeps till late. A woman who nags or lectures me is not what I want. I prefer a woman who is calm and collected,” Salasya said.
Salasya’s quest for a life partner has been far from smooth, often casting his net on high profile figures. One of his most talked-about attempts involved wooing Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe, a move that ended in a public spat after she showed no interest, leading to an exchange of barbs on social media.
In 2022, Salasya also expressed admiration for popular content creator Azziad Nasenya, who declined his advances gracefully.
In a past interview, Salasya opened up about his single status, revealing that he is seeking a partner who balances ambition with a willingness to embrace a traditional lifestyle.
He voiced concerns that many women in Nairobi prioritize urban living, whereas he prefers someone ready to settle into a simpler, rural life. He mentioned that some friends suggested he consider professionals like teachers or bankers, noting that their busy schedules might make for a more serious relationship.
“The issue with finding a wife, and this is something girls need to understand; the Bible says submission is key. It’s Biblical, it’s spiritual; you should be submissive,” Salasya explained.
Adding;
“It’s very hard for me to find someone because girls nowadays want to stay in Nairobi, but I want someone who can live in the village. Someone advised me to get a teacher or banker—someone busy so they won’t bring me stress.”
However, he jokingly noted that men from rural areas like himself are better suited to such relationships than their urban counterparts, whom he described as lacking the stamina.
“Type of a woman I would never wish to meet in my life, a virgin. When I realise she is a virgin I will allow her to go have another man to break her virginity and come back to me. I hate to labour to break a woman for another man hehe…though sisi vienyeji we are better at breaking virgins than born town who are very weak on the bed,” Salasya shared.
