Hundreds of Kenyans have turned up at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on the first day of job interviews by a Qatari-based company.
“A Qatari company, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, is in Nairobi conducting interviews for various job opportunities over the next two days,” Mutua announced.
Mutua also urged those seeking the opportunities to wear black and white official dresses or overalls where applicable and have a detailed CV, passport-size photos and passport.
Among the job openings advertised are in the hospitality and construction industries.
Those seeking job opportunities in the hospitality industry were directed to present themselves for interviews at KICC in Nairobi between October 25 and October 27, 2024, from 7.30 am.
Here are the specific job vacancies in the hospitality and construction industries.
The interviews will be conducted at KICC from Friday until Sunday starting from 7.30 am and the job openings include nurses, commis, demi chefs, chef de partie, kitchen helpers, bar backs, runners, waitresses, stewarding supervisors, kids attendants, hotel maintenance technicians, light vehicle drivers and heavy vehicle drivers.
The interviews will be conducted at Kabete National Polytechnic from Friday until Sunday starting from 7.30 am and the job openings include operators (excavators, mobile cranes, skid loaders, backhoe loaders, single drum rollers, telehandlers, boom trucks, water tankers, tipper trucks, tower cranes.
Other openings include digger signalmen, construction helpers, cleaners, storekeepers, electricians, plumbers, masons, tile layers, steel fixers, painters, welders and scaffolders.
