Tension is escalating between Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan and her husband, Shakib Cham Lutaaya, following an unexpected appearance of Diamond Platnumz at their South African mansion for their daughter Tiffah’s 9th birthday celebration.

Diamond, the father of Zari’s daughter, made the trip to South Africa to surprise Tiffah as she celebrated turning nine on August 6, 2024.

However, Shakib is feeling bitter and frustrated with Zari for hosting her ex-partner without his knowledge, raising serious concerns about trust and transparency in their relationship.

In light of Shakib’s frustrations, Zari has taken to social media to address the issue, claiming his reaction is rooted in unwarranted insecurity.

She emphasized that she had no prior knowledge of Diamond’s visit and was just as shocked by his presence as Shakib was.

Zari clarified that the surprise was solely for their daughter, who had expressed a strong desire to see her father on her special day.

However, Shakib’s response was intense; he is said to have called Zari multiple times during the event to check on her whereabouts.

Expressing her disappointment over Shakib’s lack of trust, Zari shared how he accused her of harbouring feelings for Diamond.

She firmly refuted these claims, insisting her relationship with Diamond is purely co-parental.

“Let me tell you something, if I want to get back to Diamond I can be back. If Diamond wants to get back to me he can be back. But we are so over each other. I don’t want him, he doesn’t want me; I have a husband, he has a girlfriend,” Zari stated.

Highlighting the challenges of co-parenting, Zari reiterated that she cannot and will not keep her children away from their father.

She expressed her annoyance at Shakib’s insecurities, stating they are beginning to take a toll on their marriage.

“But my husband is very insecure, and that is causing a lot of problems. I have to explain, ‘Oh, I wasn’t doing that,’ ‘Oh, it wasn’t like that,’ like really! I had to do a live just to prove a point to my husband,” she said.

Zari urged her husband to appreciate her worth and stop subjecting her to his insecurities.

“Me, Zari the boss lady, I am a millionaire, I am intelligent. I can be with whoever I want, but I chose my husband, and I don’t care how you guys see him, ‘Oh, he is broke, he is not good enough.’ I chose to be with him, but he has to put me through this. Aiii my guy, you better change, my guy, you better recognize…” she remarked.

The 43-year-old mother of five issued an ultimatum to Shakib, vowing to leave him if he doesn’t address his insecurities.

“If my guy doesn’t want to recognize who I am… shame. I will definitely find someone who is going to recognize my worth because I am worth so much more.”

Early this year, Zari and her husband were at loggerheads again after a viral video of her holding hands with Diamond went viral on social media.

Speaking to the press, Shakib said he felt disrespected by his wife’s decision to hold hands with her Tanzanian baby daddy.

She reiterated that the video was meant to promote Diamond’s song ‘Mapoz’ which was new at the time.

The Ugandan socialite apologized to her husband for making him feel disrespected by her action of holding Diamond’s hand.
