The much awaited Impala Floodlit pre-season tournament which returns this weekend after a two-year hiatus occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic is set to feature a total of 22 teams, battling in three categories, ladies, universities and clubs.

The tournament, which will mark its 38th edition will be played at the Impala Club from October 29-November 12.

Defending champions KCB have been drawn against Kenya Harlequin in quarterfinal action while the second quarterfinal in the club category will see an all varsity clash between Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad and Strathmore Leos.

Hosts Impala Saracens have been drawn against Nondescripts in the third quarterfinal as Rift Valley based sides Nakuru and Menengai Oilers clash in the fourth quarterfinal.

This year’s event also sees the University Category return with Strathmore Catulus facing USIU Martials in the opening quarterfinal, paving the way for the second quarterfinal between Catholic Monks and Blak Blad II while Daystar Falcons take on Mean Machine as the Kenya U20 national team, Chipu, face Nakuru Universities Combined in the fourth quarterfinal.
