Speaking when he appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments for vetting on Friday, August 2, 2024, Duale said that his current net worth stands at Ksh 980 million, marking a sharp increase from Ksh851 million when he was vetted for the Defence Ministry in 2022.

“My net worth as of today is at Ksh980 million,” Duale revealed.

He added that he accumulated good revenue from the sale of his autobiography adding that it is one of the best-selling books currently in Kenya.

“I have Pieces of land both in Garissa and Nairobi, my house in Nairobi, my house in Garissa, my cattle ranch in Garissa my rental properties in Nairobi and Garissa, my shares in the family-owned business, my camels and cattle, motor vehicles and Mr speaker lastly I have got good revenue from the book sales of my autobiography which is number one selling books as of today,” he said.

Duale has disclosed that he has gained experience in strategic leadership and crisis management during his tenure as a CS for Defence.

The former Garissa township MP further stated that he is dedicated to with stakeholders to fulfil environmental obligations adding that his appointment aligns with the president’s vision.

“My tenure as the Defence Cabinet Secretary has equipped me with a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, crisis management, and resource allocation. While my previous role was centred around national security, the core principles of effective governance, accountability, and strategic planning are highly transferable and relevant to managing our environmental challenges,” he said.

 

 

“My appointment aligns with President @WilliamsRuto’s vision for a more sustainable Kenya and I am dedicated to working collaboratively with stakeholders, including local communities, businesses, and international partners, to achieve the goals set forth by the administration and to fulfil our environmental obligations.”

He added that his expertise will contribute positively to advancing the climate agenda and addressing environmental challenges.

“I am eager to bring my skills and dedication to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change. I am confident that my background in governance and strategic management will contribute positively to addressing Kenya’s environmental challenges and advancing our climate agenda,” Duale said.
