Winnie Odinga came under a scathing attack after reports emerged that she had been dished a plum job by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that Winnie had been nominated by ODM to serve at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
A section of Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) roasted ODM and Winnie following the reports about the EALA nomination.
Winnie was forced to respond after reports of her alleged EALA nomination caused a social media storm. She blamed a disgruntled incoming Cabinet Secretary (CS) for sparking rumours about her alleged appointment.
“I have not applied for Eala nor has any official comms come from the party. Just a disgruntled incoming CS bothered by the girl,” Winnie Odinga tweeted.
Winnie further told off the incoming CS, saying that he should focus on his work and stop sponsoring trends to bring her down.
“Tell the incoming CS to focus on his work and stop sponsoring trends to bring down the girl. I’m not bothering anyone, I’m focusing on my family, my community & my life. When the devil wants to destroy you, he plants seeds of confusion to make you infight. Chebukati is to blame,” she tweeted.

ODM party issued a statement clarifying that they had not made any communication regarding Winnie Odinga’s purported nomination to EALA.
“To all party members of ODM, Azimio la Umoja Coalition & the general public, this is to inform you that the party has not made any communication regarding her nominees to EALA. Parliament has set the pace for the process & we shall in due course make the official communication,” the ODM party tweeted.
