Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now claims a misleading post shared on his Twitter account claiming President William Ruto’s cow gave birth to triplets recently was misunderstood.
The outspoken legislator came under fire for the better part of Tuesday after using a downloaded photo of a cow and three calves, claiming that the image was taken at President Ruto’s farm.
Cherargei captioned the photo with the message: “H.E Ruto cow gives birth to triplets of his symbolic leadership. 5 years of backfilling debt hole created by Uhuru + Raila into economic transformation, 5 yrs for economic stability, 5yrs of Kenya prosperity of milk + honey and 15 yrs of uninterrupted economic transformation. “
However, hawk-eyed netizens established that the photo was shared on Facebook by a German Agricultural page on January 30, 2023.
According to the page ‘CRV Deutschland’, the photo was taken at the farm of two young boys Jason and Jonas who were celebrating the birth of the calves that they named Emma, Ella and Emil.
“Brothers Jason and Jonas were not badly surprised when their favorite cow Elisa gave birth to not one but directly three calves without any problems. Since then, the three calves Emma, Ella and Emil have enjoyed best health and abundant cuddles and are diligently fed by the two proud brothers from Lichtenau every day,” the post read.
“We would like to thank the Agethen family for the great picture and wish them triplets alot of joy!” They added.
After hours of trolling for misinformation, Cherargei resurfaced on Tuesday night, claiming Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) widely known for their penchant for harsh attacks, misinterpreted his tweet and should learn “figurative language”.
While downplaying the attacks, Cherargei alleged that some of his critics were political opponents from Kenya Kwanza administration’s Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition.
“KOT should learn figurative language yawa! If KOT were hardworking there way they have googled the cow & calves picture then we would be the 1st world economy! Salaaale! wacha naende narudi hivi! Azimio-OKA minions are having field day like it’s Maandamos!”
