Activist Boniface Mwangi was on Sunday morning October 27, 2024, picked up by unknown people from his home at Courage Base in Lukenya, Machakos county – his wife has revealed.

According to Njeri, six unknown people walked into the home at about 7:15 am and picked up Mwangi.

She says they forcefully took him away, and that she does not know the reason as to why her husband was taken, or where he has been taken to.

“This morning at around 7.15, six uninformed people went to courage base and forcefully took my husband Boniface Mwangi from the house. I have no idea who, why or where they have taken him,” Njeri stated.

Njeri tagged lawyers and activists on her post.

Among those tagged are Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Faith Odhiambo, lawyer James Njeri, former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, human rights activist Hussein Khalid among others.

Khalid had in a subsequent post on his official X account stated he had received information that Mwangi had been picked up by unknown people, and that his whereabouts were still unknown.

Mwangi’s last activity on social media was about 19 hours ago when he rallied Kenyans to turn out in large numbers at Uhuru Gardens, to cheer up and motivate the runners participating in the Nairobi StanChart Marathon.

However, he had encouraged those who would turn up to wear bandanas with anti-government slogans.
